    Living DNA Northern Irish results

There has been some discussion on DNA results from Northern Ireland and I'm interested in how it assigns people with Northern Irish ancestry. A member of the Living DNA Users Facebook group has received and posted the results for a relative of theirs who is entirely Northern Irish in their ancestry. I thought the results were pretty interesting:

    Attachment 34811
It's a little bit tough to see but it shows:
    SW Scot and NI 63.6
    Cumbria 18.5
    Ireland 8.5
    NW Scotland 3.9
    South Wales 1.8
    SE England 1.4
    South Central England 1.1
    Basque 1.2

I'm also hoping that those of us who have some Northern Irish ancestry will post their results and how Northern Irish they are, for example:
My mother's upload results, one grandparent / 25% Northern Irish:

I uploaded my mom (who is about 25% Northern Irish on paper) a while ago, but they haven't given her results. She just shows as one of my matches.

I should be about 1/8, but get no Irish or Scottish on LivingDNA other than a bit of Orkney. This has caused me to wonder what the actual ancestry is (for example, one ancestor from Antrim has the surname Allen, which tells me nothing, but his mother's surname is English). Sadly, my mom is not tested anywhere with particularly reliable ancestry results, just FTDNA with an upload to MyHeritage. I'm not reading too much into my own results, however, as LivingDNA includes all my German as English, so it's clearly not currently that reliable for me (although my Welsh locations and percentages look right on).

No offence but would be nice if you said what community your relatives came from. Not everyone in NI is a Protestant. It seems that, that is the default view on here.

Following up on this, my mom's results are now in. She gets:

15.4% Scandinavian (she is 25% on paper, one grandmother is 100% Swedish)
no German (she is roughly 25% German and Swiss on paper, but farther back--colonial times)
    2.3% Basque
82.3% Great Britain and Ireland, broken into:

    Southeast England 22.4%

    South Central England 15.2%

    South Yorkshire 9.5%

    Ireland 6.7%

Southwest Scotland and Northern Ireland 6%

    South Wales 5.8%

    Central England 5.3%

    North Yorkshire 4.8%

    East Anglia 4.1%

    Northwest Scotland 2.5%

As I mentioned above, about 25% of her ancestry is on paper Protestant and Irish (as in identifying oneself as Irish or born in Ireland on a census), but at least some of the names seem likely English.

At least she didn't get 0% Scottish or Irish like me, although once again the absence of German makes all the results questionable.

It is very hard to see.. It is grayed out..Perhaps they don't want "Screen shots"

    I have this:
Southwest Scotland and Northern Ireland  2.7 % Great Britain and Ireland

Ireland  34 % Great Britain and Ireland

Orkney and Shetland Islands 1.2 %

However at AncestryDNA I have substantial Donegal Ancestry as one Great Grandmother Mary Doohan was born there and matches about half of Donegal( She is from Crossroads or Falcarragh) and they call Ireland and Scotland 66% NorthWest Donegal, West Donegal and Inishowen are Geographic Communities..
I have Leinster Community also also at AncestryDN and that is another Great Grandparent. Patrick Kerwin from Borris Carlow
23andme shows me 80.6% British and Irish With County Donegal being highest

Everyone shows me as having considerable North Wales Living DNA Shows 19.9 % and Devon Cornwal small amounts as well as considerable as well as the rest various places in South England and 23andMe shows Merseyside/Greater Manchester and Gwynedd, AncestryDNA shows 34% England,Wales, NW Europe with most being Wales

Jonathan McGuinness got an upload result, he told me that I could post his results here - at the moment he says he is having trouble logging into Anthrogenica himself.

He's half Scots-Irish half Ulster Irish.

    Upload:
    Ireland 46
    SW Scotland and NI 24.1
    Northwest Scotland 14.9
    Cumbria 6.8
    Northumbria 3.9
    Aberdeenshire 1.5
    Orkney and Shetland 1.4
    Southeast England 1.4

    Non-uploaded test:
    Ireland 45
    Northwest Scotland 15
    SW Scotland and NI 13.9
    Southeast England 9.1
    Cumbria 6.8
    Northumbria 3.8
    Aberdeenshire 3
    Orkney and Shetland 2.3

He has a high NW Scotland too so maybe the NW Scotland is actually true for my results.

Thought it interesting myself that my Cumbria (5%) was higher than SW Scotland (2%). What would that infer? More English ancestry than Scottish?

    What does Cumbria actually mean?

NB: My Cumbria percentage ties up with my AncestryDNA England percentage. Similarly his AncestryDNA England percentage is 10% which once again ties up here.

Perhaps the ancestry England percentage is actually English after all and not just Anglo Scots? Anglo Scots is what I had assumed my percentage inferred.
