    Yeah you're an interesting case, which is why I always go "you sure you're Gujju m8?" LOL. I have no clue why your results are like that. But races and ethnicities are constructs anyways so you're whatever you identify as. I welcome you as a Gujju. Do you know your caste or anything?

    Within a region there's a lot of diversity. You look extremely sindhi/central asian/iranian shifted based on your picture in the lounge and your genetics reflect that.

    I don't know anything about cast but I can tell you that from my mom's side, I am 1/4 Pakistani, the rest of my family is mostly from Kutch. Given that Kutch has a direct access to sea, there has surely been contact with other people, possibly Caucasians, at least that's a possible theory.

    Other than that, what's really odd is that my grandfathers are a lot dravidian looking, I am sure they have high ASI. Yet, it doesn't seem to have been conveyed to me LOL.

    He’s Khoja (I believe) so a Shia counterpart to Sunni Memon. Both Khoja and Memon are supposed to have converted from Hindu Lohana at some point who have their origins in Sindh.

    @Lollybolly

    On an individual level, phenotype does not correlate with genotype so unless your grandfathers have drastically different ancestry, they shouldn’t be too different from you.

    This is correct. Some of these gedmatch calculators don't accurately discriminate between indian subgroups as well as say nmonte. Very small differences in these calculators seem to be significant.
    I score about 8% less south indian than you and about 6% of the euro/steppe groups and my oracle groups are a lot different than yours, which isn't a huge difference to me, but the closest groups are completely different. Tamil Brahmin, UP Brahmin, and Kshatriya are among the closest groups to me, while my closest oracle is 70% velama and 30% tajik afghan, which also makes about 0 sense.

    I know a lot of Khoja people and they are so diverse looking it strikes me! How the same ethnic group of people can be so different (some look like South Indians while other look like NW Indians and Pashtuns). Just shows how diverse South Asia is even within the same ethnic groups

    You might be very interested in the geneplaza K14 with ancient populations. Could give you some clues into what you're looking for.

    Perhaps Khoja are more diverse phenotype wise but even Jatt Sikhs and Punjabi Khatris have notable phenotype diversity. However, they both still form fairly tight genetic clusters in spite of that.

    @Saporro

    I don't know if you can answer me, but what makes Lohana people score less SI and significantly more Caucasus/Baloch than most other South Asian ethnic groups? Is there a reason?
