My skin is pale white and doesn’t tan or burn. I have a sister who burns beetroot red and a sister who tans extensively within a few hours.

What contributes to this vast variation in skin pigments given a lack of variation in ones ancestry?

My ancestry results (95% Ireland and Scotland, 5% England and Wales are not from Mediterranean regions or regions that would contribute a majority of tan individuals)..
