    Global 25 question

Notice how dominant German is in this model? Is this because it is my dominant ancestry? I seem to get a very high percentage of German regardless of what different models I use. I also get the closest fits when I use German. I mention this because there is much less balance in the entire equation but does that matter?

I know the question sounded stupid but my German readings are very significant compared to the others.

Not sure if you have the sponsor access but you could try with the "outlier" filtering to get rid of too much deviating individuals from a group(in this case -- German). See if that helps. I can run it for you in a bit if you don't have access.

Alright, ran a few for you using additional resources. The fits went low (if that was your goal). Look at the settings.

    Hello Mixed,

Just so you know, the question does not sound stupid to me because Iím also seeing the same thing. I have a small percentage of German ancestry, approximately 6%, but whenever I add German to the mix, it seems to swamp the rest of my ancestry. Giving me numbers above 50% while reducing the rest of my ancestry significantly. I suspect itís because I have a lot of English ancestry and the two are often confused for each other. So Iíve been leaving it out of my calculations.

    LivingDNA: 88.1% British Isles (59.7% English, 27% Scottish & 1.3% Irish), 5.9% Europe South (Aegian 3.4%, Tuscany 1.3%, Sardinia 1.1%), 4.4% Europe NW (Scandinavia) & 1.6% Europe East, (Mordovia).

My concern is the fits went too low. I always thought anything between 1 and 2 was good and I was averaging around 1.2 so I was happy. I was just seeking realistic results and was concerned I was not getting them.

Please run those two models for me again but replace Czech and Ukrainian with Russian Smolensk in each of those models. Thanks.
