    Thanks in advance for guidance on where to begin.
    23andme posts my Paternal Haplogroup as G-S18765

    so i search on this and find "nothing"

    1st: has anyone written "Haplogroups for Dummies" ?
    2nd: Where do i get the basics so i can even discuss this properly?
    Anyone ever heard of G-S18765?

    in Yfull, 2 Europeans were already tested G-S18765 : one Portuguese of Coimbra (center Portugal) and one Swiss of Valais(upper valley of the Rhone river in SW Switerland) more recent ancestor predicted 3400 years ago. In my opinion 4000 years ago (Yfull underestimated the datation from the present about between 15 to30% .

    The mutations upstream L497 have been born in West Asia before 10,000 years ago. L497 migrated into Europe about 10,000 years ago and the mutations downstream L497 have been born in Europe.
    Here the list of mutations in descending order :

    ISOGG has given G-S18765 the (quite unwieldy) alphanumeric name of G2a2b2a1a1b1a1a2a1a2-S18765.

    According to YFull YTree v6.05.08, G-S18765 is a subclade of G-CTS4803. G-CTS4803 has been estimated to have a time to most recent common ancestor (TMRCA) of 3,400 [95% CI 3,000 <-> 3,900] ybp based on the following samples:

    Sweden x 14 (Västra Götaland County, Sweden x 1; Norrbotten County, Sweden x 1; Västerbotten County, Sweden x 12 (TMRCA 700 [95% CI 550 <-> 950] ybp))
    USA x 5
    England x 4
    Italy x 4 (Italy x 1; Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy x 3)
    Germany x 2
    Switzerland x 2
    Wales x 2 (TMRCA 75 [95% CI 50 <-> 350] ybp)
    Belgium x 1
    Quebec x 1
    Portugal x 1
    Ireland x 1
    France x 1
    Mexico x 1
    Poland x 1
    unreported origin x 1

    The individual of unreported origin may be inferred to most likely have ancestry in the medieval British Isles.

    Your subclade, G-S18765, is shared with an individual with reported origin in Coimbra, Portugal and an individual with reported origin in Valais, Switzerland.
