the Kurgan of Silivri

Hi,

Two years ago, the discovery of a very old kurgan (5000 years old) at Silivri (Istanbul) has been made public:

Does everybody know if the results have been published and if DNA have been extracted?

Maybe it will be part of the research group that received the grant for ancient samples across Turkey.

From what I understand, some results are known with a new dating (1200/1100 BC), but it seems it is more about findings in Besiktas:

Could somebody translate this part of the book? Some DNA testing seems to have been tried.

It does not say they are testing or tested the dna, it just says it would be better dated with the testing.

ffoucart, your latest links basically claim that kurgan = Turkic or Altaic peoples and that Anatolia and environs have been inhabited by Turks since the early Iron Age at the latest, which are of course nonsense. On the DNA testing, Afshar is right. I agree with your inference about Phrygians, Thracians are another option.
