Perhaps Aaronbee can shed some light on this.
The Tharu group in Harappa is unlike the Tharu group in G25. There are clearly 2 types of Tharus at least -- one being heavily East Asian and another being heavily South Asian.

Interestingly, the Harappa spreadsheet's Tharus are heavily South Asian and almost none NE Asia. In G25, however, 18 out of 19 Tharus are heavily East Asian and only 1 is heavy South Asian. So, there are multiple profiles of folks using the Tharu name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tharu_people

Yeah I looked at Dharkar who are essentially PJL D, so that made sense. The Tharu are diverse, esp the ones in Bihar.

Yes but (as you no doubt know) that is after1947 due to migration of Muslims from our side to Pakistan.

I highly doubt Toda have Steppe ancestry, they seem to be an ancient relic population , which I always speculated. I think they have similar AASI levels as UP upper castes but the rest of their ancestry should be largely Iran_N related, based of this PCA they should not be too different from IVC sample 1459. Culturally speaking they are very different from any of the SI tribals, and this PCA seems to confirm it as well. Whats surprising many of them are even more western shifted than SI Brahmins.

There are two groups given in the legend - "Burusho" and "Brusho". I am not sure what is going on. There are no known groups with that much AASI in that region.

I know we don't have anything to hide, but I refuse to give away my genetic data. This company is known for forensic genetics. I just don't trust them not to abuse my data.

I've just deleted my account too. Admixture Studio is superior for running HarappaWorld anyways, especially with the "more accurate (slower)" setting.

I have deleted my account as well . I have removed my relatives raw data when privacy issues started coming up but kept my account . I haven't heard about acquiring company till now and don't know whether i can trust them .

Anyway i am grateful to gedmatch for providing their services for all these years . They have given a platform for dna matching across different testing companies among other services .
