West Siberian some times matches the Mongol Xiongnu Sarmatian kits like in my case. I get most of those kits listed as Mongol Xiongnu Sarmatian appear on my timeline. This will actually match segments in the Srubnaya and some of the Yamnaya kits and Novosvobodnaya too. This is due to mixing with Huns during Buddhist period.

Hi, I’m back here after some years.

    # Population Percent
    1 Ancestral_North_Eurasian 40.87
    2 Natufian 29.95
    3 Ancestral_South_Eurasian 16.69
    4 West_European_Hunter_Gartherer 6.67
    5 East_Asian 5.81

    This is Ancient Eurasia K6

Wandered if anyone could share some anthropological knowledge on the times at which these societies would have existed. Does Natufian equate to the Iranian farmers, North Eurasian to steppe nomads, South Eurasian to native Indians?
    Thanks

Correct me if I am wrong, but Ancestral North Eurasian probably stands for the ANE component, which is high in certain Siberian groups. South Eurasian is most likely ASI. Natufian refers to farmers/hunter gatherers from the Levant and North Africa. Ancient Eurasia K6 is probably a dated calculator because South Asians don’t have much Natufian, and there is no other proxy population in this model to capture Iranian farmer/hunter gatherer ancestry. So it’s all going into Natufian.

Thank you for your insight. Much appreciated
Do you have any recommendation for an up-to-date calculator on which I can see a breakdown of my ASI, Neolithic Iranian farmer and Steppe components?

If not - then how does Harappa’s calculator breakdown equivocate to these components?

    Thanks

In terms of admixture very similar and probably is a lot like this late IVC tribal shifted sample, though my guess is this modern has AA ancestry which had just arrived when the individual below was alive.

Not to derail this thread I hope moderators can move this conversation to the South Asian Global25 thread.

    Welcome to the forum.
Your coordinates put you pretty close to the average Tamil Nadu Brahmins and specifically Iyer samples present on Vahaduo Global G25 Calculator available here: g25vahaduo dot genetics dot ovh

    Target: narayan_scaled
    Distance: 2.1836% / 0.02183625 | R2P
    96.4 Brahmin_Tamil_Nadu
    3.6 Brahui

    Target: narayan_scaled
    Distance: 2.5059% / 0.02505936
    100.0 Iyer

which fits your genealogical history as both ur parents are Iyers. I would leave modeling with the ancients to other members here. Btw can you share David's modeling for your coordinates?

I have one more question. Are Caucasian and Mediterranean components in HarappaWorld associated with Steppe ancestry. I know NE Euro is.

    Thanks!
Hi...partly, I would say!...actually the components would have to be considered together, rather than in isolation, also depends on how many SNP's were analysed....i presume NE europe + a higher than 3% mediterranean would be suggestive of pontic steppe, caucasian component elevation in isolation is seen even in south indian tribals!

Can someone run a few Sintashta genomes or the Sintashta average in Harappaworld to see the Caucasian component percentage?
