Adarkar surname is used by Shet and Saraswat community also. By looking at the results he could probably be Shet. Mokashi surname is used by Desasth Brahmin too.

Bellare do have an old Saraswat community and I think the venkatramana temple at Bellare is their temple and is still run by them. But I didn't know they were Chitrapur Saraswats. The major brahmin community in Bellare are not Saraswat but Havyaks. I haven't seen use of Bellare as a surname by both communities though.

shet community you mean Daivajna - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daivadnya_Brahmin?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daivaj...mes_and_Gotras

The wiki doesn't have that surname, likely it is not comprehensive

Initially, I thought Adarkar was Rajapur Saraswat Brahmin based on location, but could not find that surname and SI is high for brahmin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rajapur_Saraswat_Brahmin

    Do you mean this http://www.gsbkonkani.net/TEMPLES/09...BELLARE_7.htm?

Mokashi casuaisan is really high, maybe deshasta brahmins of maharastra near gujarat might score like this.

That wiki list didn't include the surnames from Maharashtra. The settlements in Maharashtra tend to be smaller than goa. Daivadnya settlements are there even in Pune and Raigad districts but most are concentrated in Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri. Their biggest settlements was there in goa like at Madgaon, Rivona and Raia.

Yes. I meant that temple only. I think almost all Venkatramana temples in Kanara are GSB temples.

With regards to CKP .From the few CKP results known I think would be genetically indistinguishable from Desasth and Chitpavan Brahmins. Any idea whether they are related to the Prabhu surname among Saraswats?. Someone had told me that Gsb using Prabhu surname in Kerala and Dakshin Kannada originally came from Maharashtra rather than goa.

    I have my doubts.
LT appears to hit a brick wall east of South Asia. It reminds me of mtDNA U. R and N lines are widespread in SE Asia/Oceania, but not U.
But who knows - after all mt-U with Y-P-M45 was found as north-east as Yana.
