My great-great grandfather was ethnic Portuguese from the Portuguese community in British Guiana. My 3x or 4x great-grandparents lived in Madeira, Portugal.

I have never seen an African American identify with any of their European heritage, very interesting.

That's really far removed. No offense, I find it strange that you identify with us when the connection is so faint. Have you ever visited our country?

A great-great grandfather is not far removed at all. There is only 87 yrs. between me and my Portuguese great-great grandfather. really far removed is like 10x or 13x great-grandparents not an ancestor in the last 200 years.

Well whatever floats your boat, it's something personal, but for me that makes no sense at all. Unless you had actual contact with the country as you grew up, everyone would treat you as a foreign, regardless of your "not far removed" connection

Why doesn't it make any sense to you? And do you consider me Portuguese/Portuguese-American
