New Genetic Communities (Ireland)

I just received an update.
My Genetic Communities under Ireland & Scotland were Ulster-North Midlands.
Now I get Central Ireland- North Roscommon, Roscommon & Ulster.

Although North Midlands did a reasonably good job describing my Roscommon and other ancestry, most of my matches in that genetic community were from Donegal--I don't have known relations to my Roscommon matches, but that is the known location of my family.

Thank you so much for telling me about the update. I've just checked mine and my daughter's and I've finally got my Roscommon. The GCs are spot on because they have the areas of where both myself and daughter's family's are from. My daughter's paternal side is from Wexford.

Mines have updated, thanks for telling me! This gives more clarification on a county basis as I wasn't sure about Ulster East!

Although, I don't understand why the probability for Ulster has reduced from Likely to Possible? Yet Donegal is now 'likely', where a small percentage of my ancestry comes from.

My family is from Offaly. Previously I just had Ulster, where I have no ancestry from. Their estimate could barely be more accurate now.

Thank you for letting us know! West Roscommon and East Mayo would cover the entire area where my ancestors are from. I do have ancestors from all of the genetic communities given though. I included the maps because I'm surprised by the size of the South Sligo & North Roscommon genetic community. It's tiny!

The four of us who have tested all have 1000+ matches in each community except I have 854 in South Sligo & North Roscommon, my mum has 983 in West Roscommon, East Mayo & North Galway, and my paternal aunt has 728 in South Sligo & North Roscommon.

My known ancestors were from Roscommon, Galway and Mayo.
My mum's were from Roscommon and Mayo.
My paternal aunt's were from Roscommon and Galway.
My dad's paternal aunt's were from Roscommon.

Edit: Just had a look at all the communities. There are now 99 associated with Ireland and Scotland, 12 in Central Ireland, 22 in Connacht, 6 in Donegal, 3 in Leinster, 36 in Munster, 4 in Scotland, and 9 in Ulster. Looking at them individually in Connacht, there's no other community that I should have gotten based on my known ancestry. However, I should have gotten the Roscommon community in Central Ireland based on the map but my ancestors would have been more towards the edge of the community rather than dead-centre so I can't complain.

It seems like a lot of people have ancestry from Roscommon. Funnily enough my only genealogical link to it is from my English side, from the 1840s! I doubt that's why it's showing up though...

It looks to be just Ireland at the moment. Ireland and Scotland have 99 communities while the second highest number is 'Eastern Europe & Russia' and 'Germanic Europe' both with 14 communities. I can't remember how many communities were in Ireland before this but it definitely wasn't that high. Connacht had 5 before the update and now there's 22. It's probably purely due to the number of people testing with Irish ancestry that it's making it easier for Ancestry to form communities.
