    I Couldn’t understand anything from her song. At the end she speaks malayalam but with a Tamil sounding accent. The Irula language in the video client posted also sounded totally alien to me. I wish they had added subtitles to that part so that I could compare if their was any similarity with malayalam words.

    Maybe a Nilgiri areal feature? That would be very interesting.

    As for the song you posted, I definitely understood a bit(I think)
    "sangadam" = sorrow?
    "poo parika pogilamo" = should we go pick flowers(?)

    I'll listen to it a couple of times, to see if I understand more, its catchy anyway

    Edit:
    Actually isn't sangadam Malayalam, I get confused because I speak a mixed dialect. Maybe she is saying something else. But "poo parika pogilamo" definitely seems like what I think it is.
    haha yeah you're right sangadam is malayalam and so is poo parikal. i looked up the lyrics and realized a lot of the words are understandable but the strong difference in accent obscures this when you hear it spoken/sung.

    sandana meram= sandalwood tree

    in malayalam it would be chandana maram

    veemanam pakkilamo= go see airplanes

    in malayalam it would be vimanathe kaananpo

    i think the song is talking about two different trees both in bloom and located in different directions, one south and the other north (thekkathe and vadakkathe) which are the same words used in malayalam for the cardinal directions although she pronounces them a bit different.

    Edit: okay the three videos you posted right now are a lot easier to understand

    While watching this Kurumba Video, felt the kurumba langauge has some Tamil/Malayam Accent/Vocabulary/Sentences. Just wanted to see if that is the case as they live close to Malayam and Tamil Speakers. But it is a movie, watching for a few minutes might be enough somewhere in the middle to asses that.

    song by the late great Kalabhavan Mani (RIP). Its got some peculiar colloquialisms. once when i was visiting india the driver there told me that some of these words/phrases are unique to the pulaya dialect. I've never actually heard this dialect spoken though.
