One of my grandparents was born in Poland to Polish parents. The previous report she was accounted for in the Eastern European catacory, but with the map, the closest 23 got was German. Fun anyway!

Most UK regions make sense. Greater London is left field. Not sure about Ireland. Nothing yet for French/German and Scandinavia.

OK I'm slightly sceptical of this:

"Ireland is comprised of 26 regions. We found evidence of your ancestry in 5 of them.

    County Dublin
    County Cork
    County Donegal
    County Mayo
    County Galway

I don't have any paper trail evidence to back that up apart from a stray Higgins ancestor who shows up in Ayrshire, no evidence where (in Ireland) he came from other than falling back on generic surname distribution maps.

UK locations seem to be very catch-all - I don't have any London ancestry or Lancs, looks like just a listing of all the big industrial areas to me
United Kingdom is comprised of 165 regions. Here are the top 10 regions where we found evidence of your ancestry.

    Greater London
    Glasgow City
    West Midlands
    Tyne and Wear
    Merseyside
    Belfast
    County Durham
    Lancashire
    East Ayrshire
    Staffordshire
    YSEQ:#37; YFull: YF01405 (Y Elite 2013)
GEDMatch: A828783 (autosomal DNA), 9427684 (GEDCOM) for segment matching DO NOT POST ADMIXTURE REPORTS USING MY KIT
WGS (Full Genomes Nov 2015, YSEQ Feb 2019, Dante Mar 2019) - further WGS tests pending ;-)
Ancestry GCs: Scots in central Scotland & Ulster, Ireland; English in Yorkshire & Pennines

I think this is a great start and I'm delighted that 23andme are doing it. Here's mine for Britain and Ireland. They're working on my French & German and Scandinavian.

EDIT: Those Irish regions seem to match research I've done so far on distant (18th century) lines on my father's side. However, he isn't showing any Irish on this feature. Neither is my late mother, incidentally.

Its an improvement, but they still give us British/Irish instead of our Danish and German (they even removed Denmark from our Scandinavian), but now it is more obvious as even the DNA cousins they suggest for common British/Irish roots are mostly Germans and Danes.. And the regions they assign us are regions where there was allot of Saxon and Norse settlement, so they have basically misinterpreted the migration pattern and geneflow direction... For Norway the regions are close, but still not 100%, for my fathers side the Swedish regions are nearly 100% correct.

    v3 chip here
Paper trail ancestry to the best of my knowledge:
English (possibly containing some Welsh ancestry) 31.25%, Eastern European and Eastern German (Galicia, Poland) 25%, Scottish 17.96%, Scotch-Irish 12.5%, French 8.2%, Native American 1.95%, and Colonial American, 3.125%, which cannot be determined with complete certainty: there is Dutch (at least 1.36%) and some English. The rest could include Spanish, Norwegian, German, and French, but these percentages would be minuscule.
