All south indians have the same genetic makeup and look the same.
What state you are from in india is the largest determinant of your genetics.
Caste has no influence on your genotype.
If you talk about your ancestry, it means you hate yourself or being Indian.
    "Indian" is an ethnic group.
North indian and south indian are clearly defined things. There is no intermediate. You are one or the other.

Don't forget that brahmins are exactly the same genetically as everyone else. Apparently caste is all an illusion. Especially in the south.

For example, in tamil nadu, 90+% of people look like this (I must reiterate, this is not a good or bad thing, it is simply a fact)

    download.jpg

But apparently, if you look different than this due to your caste/heritage/background due to sheerly different genotypes, you hate yourself and are a racist. Instead, the majority will claim, especially the anti brahmin movement, that it is purely chance. Its crazy what lengths people will go to in order to say that we are all genetically the same.

Yeah that north and south thing is another one I wanted to mention but I wasnt sure how. It seems like people think these are the only two categories that are possible, when in reality there's no reason a country as large and diverse should not be divided into east, west, northeast, central, and more as well. They try to pigeonhole all the states into that strange north and south binary, simultaneously ignoring caste, ethnicity, tribe as well.

Many South Asian Muslims are passed down so many stories of Central Asian and Iranic ancestors that they do not even see themselves as South Asian. I have seen so few cases where this ancestry actually even exists. Then there are also the 'syed' claims... I'd say about 99% of those are false

Also Northeast Indians are heavily underrepresented in the media because they don't look like the 'typical' Indian

It's way more likely that someone somewhere along the line just made up a lie.

However, there are actually a decent number of Muslims in India who do have foreign ancestry and it's oftentimes obvious right when you see them. Unfortunately they are drowned out by the masses who falsely claim it and you end up with certain nationalists and others claiming foreign ancestry does not exist at all.
In my case it actually turned out to be partially true. Originally 4.6% Middle Eastern and North African on 23andMe which is now 2.8%, I also have 38.7% South Asian I was told my grandfather was descended from Persians, he was born in a Muslim family in New Delhi. There's a user on another forum who had a very similar story but came back with 100% South Asian on AncestryDNA and 99.8% South Asian on 23andMe, with no Middle Eastern/West Asian DNA. He was told he's a Syed and flat out denies his results are true.

I would be interested to see you on Harappa with the oracles. And if you feel like spending $10-15 then G25.

Yeah I’m not surprised. It’s a similar case with many of my family. Honestly I’d never go and tell my family members about my findings-uncles and elders really don’t want to change their minds about this stuff and no one has a curiosity which just makes things way worse. I’m willing to bet that I’m the only one who has this level of knowledge about this anthropology stuff(and science in general) in my extended family and I don’t say that to brag but the opposite-it feels bad to be alone in this regard.
