I have a strong feeling that he is merely pandering to a certain constituency, having no real support base of his own, aiming to acquire some popularity. He has forever championed causes of the lunatic fringe. If he is serious about and believes in what he reckons, than he is quite a thing. Often, his narratives of reality are stranger than fiction.
