    Warrior Genes

I am curious if this gene has positive selection for warring castes like the Jats, Rajputs, Gowda. Two major ones. I test G:G for both.

Some scholars have suggested that we are all Warriors or Worriers. Those with fast-acting dopamine clearers are the Warriors, ready for threatening environments where maximum performance is required. Those with slow-acting dopamine clearers are the Worriers, capable of more complex planning. Over the course of evolution, both Warriors and Worriers were necessary for human tribes to survive.

In truth, because we all get one COMT gene from our father and one from our mother, about half of all people inherit one of each gene variation, so they have a mix of the enzymes and are somewhere in between the Warriors and the Worriers. About a quarter of people carry Warrior-only genes, and a quarter of people Worrier-only.

Perhaps MAOA 3 repeats: Warrior Gene? People with this SNP may also have the 3 repeat version of MAOA, known as the Warrior Gene. It makes people more aggressive and antisocial. If you are male, you inherited this from your mother and your sons won't get it from you. Do not confuse this with the completely different warrior/worrier COMT gene.

People with the low-activity MAO-A gene (2R, 3R) are overall more prone to violence.

Specifically, when these people feel very provoked or socially isolated their aggression will come out.

People with low MAO-A are more likely to be risk takers. They are also more likely to take revenge and use greater force if they get screwed over, but not for small screw overs.

Mice with low MAO-A are also more aggressive in general and are more likely to start turf wars.

People and mice with low MAO-A are more impulsive and aggressive.

People with low MAO-A who are abused as kids show more aggressive behavior as an adult.

People with low MAO-A (3R) who ALSO have high testosterone, poor living standards and/or low IQ are more prone to violence.

So the perfect violence soup is low MAO-A, social isolation, high testosterone, being poor and having a low IQ.

I am A/G at the first one and C at the second one. What does that mean?

Whoa. Well I can be quick to anger and I do get impatient, which is why I really try to be a nice person to avoid situations like that lol. My brother has usually been more chill and easy going.

Yeah same, my results explain me perfectly. I have bad anger issues but I'm not the best at strategizing or handling threatening situations.

This is one factor likely out of many, and this is very complex science. Many alleles can change neuro chemicals. However, this is one of the major ones. So it makes sense you anger easily, I do too.

I'm AA on the rs4680 and CC on rs909525

I'm a major warrior -- except, never got into a two-way fight ever. I did beat up my younger brother though when I was a kid.

    AA is a worrier.

The Worrier (A)...Lower COMT, Higher Dopamine (Met)

AA is considered the 'risk' or 'bad' allele in part because people don't do well with stress and because lower COMT can create issues with methylation and not breaking down estrogen byproducts (catechol estrogens).

AA's get more pleasure out of life but also more misery (bigger high's and low's).
