23andMe rolled out new Ancestry Composition estimates today

23andMe rolled out new Ancestry Composition estimates today. It appears to work for all chips - at least V3, V4 and V5.

I'm extremely happy with this update. (V4 chip) My Broadly European, Scandinavian, Italian and most of my Broadly NW European moved to British&Irish, increasing it 9% to ~95%, dead on what I believe it should be. The leftovers are 1.9% F&G and 2.8% Broadly NW Europe. My Mother's V4 results (phased with me) are basically the same as mine. Spot checking eight V5 tests and two AncestryDNA uploads it looks like all of our family's tests updated. This will take some time to digest!

Estimated ancestry after reviewing Ancestry.com, 23&Me, FTDNA My Origins, Living DNA and known family history:
    32% English, 28% Scottish, 20% Welsh, 16% Irish, 4% German/Netherlands

    Y-DNA leads to Isle of Skye, Scottish Highlands: R1b>M343>L278>L754>L389>P297>M269>L23>L51>L151/L11>P312>Z290>L21/M529>DF13>L513/DF1>S5668>A7>Z21253> S7834 > S7828 > BY11203 > BY11186 (about 320-550 years old)

MTDNA leads to Glamorgan, South Wales: K1a4a1f

Big changes also for me, but only in appearance.
The "broadly" have fallen sharply in speculative.

First graph, my new composition according to the level of confidence.

The second, comparison between my previous results and the new ones in speculative:

Yes, I just checked mine and saw some slight differences - small increase in Scandinavian and British and Irish, small decrease in French & German. Lost the small Broadly Soouthern European, gained a even smaller amount of Senegambian and Guinean - lights up as a small segment on chromosome 4 on the chromosome painting section. Probaby noise.

Wow, mine’s changed quite a bit - I’ve gone up from 97.5% Ashkenazi to 99.4%

Interestingly, I previously had 0.7% Eastern European, all on my X chromosome. Now, my X DNA is fully Ashkenazi but I’ve picked up 0.5% Eastern European on my 20th chromosome.

I hadnt checked 23andme in a while, but it looks like I’m actually genetically (though probably not genealogically) related to a couple of US governmental advisors lol

Big changes in mine, v4 chip. Much more closely matches Ancestry DNA now. Finally showed the Baden-Wuerttemberg connection indicated by Lukasz and Ph2er. Ancestry report says England, Wales, NW Europe 58%, Germanic 28%, France 7% - 23 says Britain Ireland, NW Europe 56%, Germany (Baden-Wuerttemberg) 36%, no French.

I checked out some guys on v2-v4 who also took the v5 test and their updated results are almost identical. I'll probably not get v5 for me when I'll phase my parents then.

Everything is the same for the missus and I, except "Iberian" was relabelled "Spanish & Portuguese" - which should be "Portuguese & Spanish", of course, but the guys at 23andme are all a bunch of philistines anyway

With this iteration 23andMe is SIGNIFICANTLY better at extrapolating the French/German ancestry compared to AncestryDNA. Both continue to fail miserably by suggesting that there are non-Swiss/German ancestors present in the family tree in the 1700's. Total BS to predict that type of influence.
