Interesting comment on similarity between Gujjers and Balochs(page 11) , can anyone knowledgeable comment on it?

Gujjars and Balochs are known to be heavy Iran N. It's the relationship to IVC.

I watched program on Baloch history some time ago. According to army general who is baloch and now politician in N league. Some of south punjab baloch tribes were referred as gujjars by other people because of pastoral life style. Doesn't necessarily mean anything more then that.

    Cool study Noman

the study suggests (sample size is low):

    - That Utmankhels are high G (G2b) and are not genetically closely related to other Pashtuns

    - Gujjars are related to the Baloch - probably due to the high Iran N as MDL suggested but also due to L1 as this is a y-dna study

    - H1 is the most frequent Y Hap among Kohistanis

    - J is low across the board but the highest in Yusafzais (15% combined)

    - R2 is low across the board and the highest in Gujjars (10%)

    - Yusufzais and Tarkalanis are high R1a (80%) and Gujjars, Kohistanis and Utmankhels are all under 25% R1a

    - L1 is the low in Kohistanis but the most common haplogroup among Gujjars in this study (55%). Baloch in both Pakistan and Afghanistan in other studies also have the highest L1 (L1a1) but the subclade here is not specified. My guess is majority L1a1 and minority L1a2 from the Gujjar results I've seen on the forum and due to the mention of the Baloch who are predominantly L1a1

    Heres the y-dna distribution
