    New Sequencing.com Apps!!

One gives you a match of you matches (I assume autosomal). The proximity goes by radius and you get to know which data set the samples are from by hovering over the dot:

The other is a more expensive one called Genetic Ancestry + Haplogroups. It gives you an autosomal breakdown and haplogroups. At least by the description, the haplogroup assignment might be deep and/or detailed. I, regretfully, caved in and go an absurd result from the more expensive one. Haplo assignment was correct though. I also purchased the first App and it seems correct/reasonable.

What kind of raw data file did you send them? Do they claim to be able to assign both Y-DNA and mtDNA? Using any kind of data file? My understanding is that my MH raw data file and the FTDNA file it's based on don't have enough info to accurately assign haplogroups.

Where do you see the more expensive app?

I used my AncestryDNA kit, as it has the most SNPs. They were able to correctly assign me L210, but left my MTDNA blank. Yes, they claim to assign both, but of course, your raw data must have the necessary SNPs.

App market-> Ancestry -> should be the first one.

These are my results from the less expensive App:

The circle in Poland is a data set of Polish Ashkenazi arrivals in Israel. Likewise, the biggest circle there is an Israeli data set of Turkish Jewish arrivals. The same is true for many of the big circles: the ones in North Africa, Georgia, Iraq, and India (cool that they have an Indian Jewish reference - no clue which subset of Indian Jews though). I never score any South Asian on G25 or Gedmatch, so this must mean that this group is at least autosomally somewhat EastMed/WestAsian. There are other smaller dots not visible at that resolution and ones which didn't fit inside the picture (i.e tiny ones in South Africa).

I'd steer clear of this app. I got sucked in (because I'm weak like that, haha), but also because they're offering a 50% discount on new apps, and I figured I could at least get a very basic Y-DNA report (something akin to, though hopefully slightly better than the free haplogroup predictors), even if the mtDNA didn't show up. I had strong doubts they'd be able to provide accurate information, but the product description leads one to believe that they at least give some basic haplogroup info, even if there aren't enough SNPs to go in depth. Well, I got 0 haplogroup info and a wildly inaccurate ethnicity breakdown. Money down the drain. I've requested a refund.

They are ok, if you get a discount that tests you with LivingDNA, also (they are their autosomal testing partner). So it's worth it for the price, two for one sort of thing.

I also think they are partnered with Microsoft, which was how I initially learned of them.

To be fair, though, most of their stuff you can either find on the competition (medical reports) or for free (autosomal calculators).

I did get the LivingDNA raw file through one of their offers for 60-70ish USD if I remember correctly, so it's worth it if you are a raw file collector, like me.

I did recommend the cheaper one over this one.
