Yes that's the one. I think I will upload to Yfull soon, maybe next month. What do you think about this branch? Is there a Bedouin connection? I'm surprised it went so far south.

Yes very interesting, I don't know exactly what you mean by Bedouin as Bedouins in N. Africa are Hilali/Maqali Arabs and they are pre-dominantly upon the J1 haplogroup. Who knows, maybe your haplogroup was introduced in Spain during the Murabit conquests, they came from Southern Morocco and were mostly of the Senhaja tribes (they also are positive for E-Z5009). We could get more info when analyzing your TMRCA with these samples on your branch.

Does anyone know if it's possible to count STRs manually using Nebula's genome browser? Is there a page that shows the positions and how to count them?

If you really want you can get the positions for STRs from ybrowse eg DYS392

    https://ybrowse.org/gb2/gbrowse_deta...hrY%3Adatabase

It is rather laborious to read them in a genome browsesr and there are tools to extract them for you (eg lobSTR).

So, for example: DYF406S1 seems to be one single position according to Ybrowse:

How can you count repeats from a single position? My value should be 9 or 10... Anyway I check that position and I get this:

    Is it 2 times 9 (=18)? I don't get it.

Well according to one paper I can see that's a synonym for DYS522 which is in ybrowse separately and in wikipedia is 13x'gata' in the reference. The next step if that is confirmed is to see how many reads you have that fully encompass it which depending on your coverage may be a handful +/-. I would put the exercise firmly in the 'sucker for punishment' category. Assuming you differ from the human reference you ought to see an insert or deletion marked to show the extra or missing repeats.

I just received a Full Genome (x30) bought 2 weeks ago. Looking forward to have my full DNA!!

Please any user has bought this? How large is the RAW DNA file? And do you know if I could upload it to MyHeritage, ADNTRO, MyTrueAncestry,...

You get multiple raw data files. None of them on their own can be uploaded to these websites, but the CRAM file (around 40-60GB) can be converted into a format which can be uploaded to these websites, but it needs to be converted to a BAM file first. There are instructions here for converting CRAM to BAM, but you'll need to adjust the CPU threads used according to your own PC. These instructions also assume you're running Windows.

Hi, for extracting the bam on a 4-thread Intel i5 should I just change @12 for @3? If I use all 4 threads it will crash, right? How long will it take? I have 8gb ram and 500gb HDD. It's going to take forever I guess.
