I’ve noticed that batches 952, 953, and 954 have been delayed. Has anyone received Big Y-700 results from batches 950 or 951 yet?

Not all samples in a batch get delayed. I know that a person in batch 954 has received their Big Y results. My dad is in batch 953 and has been delayed though.

The Awaiting Lab Results page in my FTDNA account states that my #954 results should be completed between 6/24 and 7/06

Are you sure it was Big Y-700 results this person received in batch 954 as opposed to an SNP Pack or something else?

It doesn’t make any sense to me why someone in batch 954 would have priority over many people in batches 952 and 953 in regards to Big Y-700 results.

I have seen that results have been received for batch 954 on FTDNA project activity feeds. A Big Y-700 result in batch 952 has been received by a close match of my dad's yesterday as well. It's not that a sample has been given priority in batch 954 but the testing may have run more smoothly for that sample than others. There have been many cases where a result may have been delayed for months in an old batch while a sample in a newer batch already has results. Some people may get delayed further downstream than the initial run of the batching with quality control possibly requiring somebody's test to be rerun. This is also why somebody from batch 954 might already have their results, but somebody from batch 950 is still waiting on their results. A post by someone in the activity feeds mentioned that they had received their Big Y 700 results in Batch 954 but are still awaiting his maternal uncle's results which are Batch 952.

I contacted FTDNA just to ensure that there was no problem with the sample in 953. I was told that everything is processing fine so far in the lab and as long as the sample continues to pass the stringent quality control process for the Big Y-700, results can be expected within the next 6-10 weeks. I'd doubt that it will be that long and they just don't want to underestimate but I'm happy to go along with the process and that I could have a result next week or in two months. It is what it is and I'd prefer to get accurate results with a good number of reads.

FTDNA finally updated my expected results with the delayed notification for batch 953.

On a side note, over on YFull, there were 4 of us in E-BY14160*. Now there are only 2 of us, as an Albanian and a Swede moved a bit downstream. I wonder if they received updated Y700 results...

Sent an email to FTDNA last week and heard back earlier this week, they checked and apparently I still have one unopened vial left from six years ago so I don't need to send in another sample until after they open that one. This is a 500>700 upgrade, batched 4/29 into #962, and results still scheduled for between July 8-22.
