    X2b4 mtDNA

I recently had my mtDNA result from 23andMe, and it was revealed to be X2b4. It seems to be a very uncommon maternal group, as X is in general. I was wondering if anyone here has had a similar result, and what more have you found from your result?

X2b4: found in England, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Scandinavia and in the Levant (Druzes)
X2b4a: found in Britain and Sweden
    X2b4a1 : found in Finland

It's old in that Western Europe area. You can check some of the samples found here: https://amtdb.org/records/.

Thanks for that as it's rather uncommon, I've found it difficult to see any information on it. This certainly helps.

X2b4 has been detected in ancient samples in Europe, but the oldest is from Anatolia. This is what I have recorded:
    Neolithic Çatalhöyuk Turkey 20374 7100-5959 BC X2b4,
Corded Ware Esperstedt Germany I0049/ESP22 X2b4,
    Bell Beaker Haut-Rhin France I1390 and I1389 X2b4a,
Bell Beaker Netherlands Oostwoud North Holland I5748 X2b4,
    Alemanni Niederstotzingen south Germany n. 4 580-630 AD X2b4,
Alemanni Niederstotzingen south Germany n. 9 ”Franconian” 580-630 AD X2b4,
Alemanni Niederstotzingen south Germany n. 12b ”Byzantine” 580-630 AD X2b4

Do y'all have any idea how these groups are equivalent of FTDNA groups? To get the group for my paternal grandfather (who passed away in the 1970s) we did a test on a first cousin once removed (a daughter of his sister) and she is in the X2b-T226C group. We have a solid tree going back to the early 1700s in Connecticut. Most of the folks in that area were of English stock.
