    Mtree at Yfull

So I noticed Yfull added a tree for MTDNA lineages. I am kind of confused because my assignment changed, which is different from FTDNA full sequence. Initially they were the same. I am H11a2* yet now with the added mtree on yfull my assignment has changed to H11a*. Could someone help explain? I know its part of the same lineage but a little discouraging when testing services aren't lining up. They should both be full sequence too.

Is your result on Yfull part of your FGC YElite sequence?
If so there might be some discrepancies between FGC and FTDNA results due to different technologies.
AFAIK Sanger sequencing is the way to go with MtFull. (FTDNA; YSEQ?)

P.S. Found this from FT Learning Centre:

"How do you perform mtDNA (mitochondrial DNA) tests?

Family Tree DNA currently uses next generation sequencing (NGS) technology to process all mtDNA tests. We use:
    The Illumina MiSeq Platform
    At greater than 2000X coverage

Note: Prior to April 2013, Family Tree DNA performed mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) tests by direct (Sanger) sequencing. "

I wonder how many different technologies of Mt tests are being used as of now...

Thank you for your response. I am just confused cause they also originally had me as H11a2* before MTree went live. Even had the file looked at by someone who does mtdna reports and said I was part of a yet unclassified balkan clade of H11a2* 146+. Apparently samples from Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Montenegro, Albania, and Serbia. but now they backtracked me to H11a.

But is the uploaded result at YFull part of the YElite? Or the MtFull you did at FTDNA?

It is part of the Yelite. But they also offered full sequence and initially assigned me to H11a2 as well. Thats why I am wondering with the new MTree why Yfull changed it to a different clade.

Thank you for noticing and sharing the Mtree at YFull.

This is the first public tree to list my subgroup of U2e1 as U2e1j, I am pleased YFull kept the "group j" naming that GailT (as I recall) named us in the U2 mtDNA project at FTDNA. I've been waiting for Phylotree to catch up, this will do.

Nice, a whole section for mtDNA analysis. I'm wondering if analysis for new haplogroups has been ran yet. My group https://yfull.com/mtree/H6a1a3*/ has 9 samples in it, but no (new) sub-clades. Personally have 2 Novel SNP's (and one copy variation which I'm not sure about counting...), one which is on a common SNP microarray so I know it should be fairly common one. Of course, there seems to have been an issue with "ghost SNP's" on mtDNA, so it may be trickier than it seems. Also there's option to upload mtDNA in FASTA now, if one has it from somewhere else than their Y sequence: https://yfull.com/mt-upload-list/

So FTDNA had me designated as a T2b24, My YFull designation on the MTree is now T2b24b, so it looks like they could further refine my placement to a subclade 1 step lower!

They have done analysis for new haplogroups. I'm now H6a1b2f when I was previously H6a1b2. It's done pretty much straight away if you match someone else who shares unique novels with you.

If I remember correctly, they have a Facebook page. Maybe you could get an answer there.
