    Apparently I'm a match with JQ704151.1.

I found this https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/JQ704151.1 I'm clueless as to what it means.

It's just a person's mtDNA result that was uploaded to GenBank. I also match a person on YFull who is an upload from GenBank. There have been a good few new haplogroups formed as posted in another thread before. My haplogroup also changed from H6a1b2 (FTDNA) to H6a1b2f (YFull).

It's a pity I can't see the ancestral origin of the match.

Yeah and without a surname you can't make a guess either. I was lucky enough that my match on YFull who was an upload to GenBank did include their country of origin as Scotland.

When I look at YFull, it says that T11233C defines H67b1.

    Firemonkey,

There were many protein sequences from nucleotide coding regions, running from accession numbers JQ701803-JQ706067, more than a few thousand, and you were looking at only one coding nucleotide. What they were examining in these studies, were the coding nucleotides expressed in common amongst modern Homo sapiens sapiens and the Neanderthals ( from locations listed from various worldwide sites). If you go to the reference you'd cited, click on the Graphics button, and that will open an active spreadsheet. You can scroll around on the s/s, enlarge or condense it, depending upon your needs, and it will reveal some discrete data, etc. E.g., take the micro view and you can note the ACGT amino acids within a particular section.

On the right hand side of the page you'll find some notations about publications, references, etc. Click on the one entitled Full Text Article in PMC. That will open the initial page entitled: A “Copernican” Reassessment of the Human Mitochondrial DNA Tree from its Root. From there you can read it in full text, or in the other formats listed.

They changed me, too. While FTDNA full has me at J2a1a1e, YFull had me at J2a1a1g ... but now it's J2a1a-a1
