Apparently they now have a medieval Irish sample, did anyone match this?

The email said: "Medieval Ireland - the first samples analyzed to date from Medieval Ireland! VERY exciting"

Paper trail ancestry to the best of my knowledge:
English (possibly containing some Welsh ancestry) 31.25%, Scottish 17.96%, Scotch-Irish 12.5%, Eastern German 12.5%, Eastern European (Likely Polish possibly including Romanian) 12.5%, French 8.2%, Native American (Saulteaux and Assiniboine) 1.95%, and Colonial American, 3.125%, which cannot be determined with complete certainty. With certainty, there is Dutch (at least 1.36%) and some English.

Cheers Firemonkey, I'll be sure to try my LDNA data. Excited to see if Jessie matches it well.

Living DNA showed some, 23andme did not show in top 20.

Only my mother matches (Ancestry) with 1 sample. It’s her #100 match on the list. My father and husband match one of the Revolutionary France samples.

I do match this one revolutionary sample, but only if I select it for "DNA Spotlight"

    Le Mans Revolutionary France

    mtDNA Haplogroup: H46
    Y-DNA Haplogroup: Uncertain

    Genetic Distance: 8.8670
Sample Match! 97% closer than others users

The medieval Irish samples definitely appear to be more in line with the more modern chips, as my FTDNA, Ancestry, 23andme, and my parents Ancestry don't show these in the top twenty, but Living DNA does. So, I'm guessing if you want to compare to these one has to use something like Living DNA or 23andme version 5.

Wouldn't converting it only change the format? i dont think that will give you the markers tested on the 23 v5 chip

You may be right. If so that begs the question, "What is the point of DNA kit studio "

Well it wouldn't be able to just add the SNPs and determine your markers from a piece of data which does not already include that. I don't think there is any point, maybe there was, because previously some uploads had compatibility issues, but it seems that all major sites now don't have problems accepting uploads from any major source. I also found that merging my data did not increase the SNP count / resolution of my merged uploads.

I don't see any point in using DNA Kit Studio at all!
