From what I have seen on various PCA with lombards. Some of them Plot more north than modern Scandinavians. And some plot more closer to modern Germanic populations like Dutch, danes and North Germans.

Thank you for posting your results @kote. Do you have a picture of your map you could post up as well please? None of the samples on your list show up in my results and I’m curious to see where they’re placed on the map.

Just to expand on this, as I thought this was interesting as well. It seems very consistent that the "Northern Germanic" "Nordic" or whatever we call them now types are similar enough to the Insular Celtic type which you and SGDavies both represent that when given the option to model an individual of largely or purely Insular Celtic ancestry these calculators will almost always choose to incorporate some kind of "Heavily Germanic/Nordic/Whatever" sample or population to model an Insular Celtic individual as. The exceptions of course are on the more recently fine tuned commercial calculators with numerous references from places like Ireland.

I think it is beneficial that we note this pattern, as we see people of mixed backgrounds that include "Insular Celtic" heritage/ancestry getting Scandinavian or some kind of "Heavy" "Germanic" or "Nordic" Northern European type. It seems to me that this can be mistaken for their Insular Celtic ancestry which doesn't always appear as such.
I think we are very fortunate to have so many forum members from "less exotic" backgrounds so that we have these points of reference!
Paper trail ancestry to the best of my knowledge:
English (possibly containing some Welsh ancestry) 31.25%, Eastern European and Eastern German (Galicia, Poland) 25%, Scottish 17.96%, Scotch-Irish 12.5%, French 8.2%, Native American 1.95%, and Colonial American, 3.125%, which cannot be determined with complete certainty: there is Dutch (at least 1.36%) and some English. The rest could include Spanish, Norwegian, German, and French, but these percentages would be minuscule.

I presume from these archeogenetic matches that:

    1. My remotest ancestors (1600BC) were at least partly from Dalmatia; the same may apply to you, Vettor.

    2. The dates 590AD and 670AD apply to samples from Szolad and Collegno respectively.
