Interesting I got many deep dive matches. Minoan, Hellenic Roman (Crete), Ancient Greek, and some others. Not sure what the others are since I didn't pay.
I wonder the reliability of this. I mean how can I match a 4 thousand year old Minoan Samples ?!!

That is odd. Must be something in your slightly more southern/Samaritan-like genes that she doesn't have??

She just gets this: "For now there are no direct ancient relatives for this kit."

Not sure I would trust their deep dive algorithm. There's no way I share 988 cM with Mongol Ottoman 1500 AD.

On the other hand 9.13 cM shared with Aral Sea Karasuk 400 BC, and 2.81 cM shared with Ancient Mongolia 250 BC seems reasonable.

This feature works really well here for us. However, we have to be mindful that they run a pretty low threshold. Coverage can be an issue too. ALl in all, it is still useful as a pointer.

As far as I can trace my family tree back so far all of my ancestry is from England (about 1590), Scotland (anywhere from early 1700s to early 1200s), and Ireland (early 1700s). MyTrueAncestry gave me the following:

Seriously...how can some Collegno and Szolad samples be considered "Central Roman" which is allegedly a Latin/Etruscan mix according to a MyTrueAncestry.com e-mail reply when we still await published samples from Etruria and Latium.

I am supposed to be Roman, Illyrian and Thracian and yet all my known ancestors hail from NW Tuscany with possibly slight Emilian and Bergamask additions.

Do their results not suggest parallel mixes between Italy and the Balkans rather than direct ancestral identity?

They just added some Scythians to the ancient samples, quite interesting.

I had ran previous Iron Age models with G25 where I had a significant amount of Scythian Hungary. This is the result (with moderns) with mytrueancestry based on the 2018 pontic caspian steppe paper samples.
