Earthquake video and GPS motion data juxtaposed

Here is an interesting video of the Nepal 7.8 mag earthquake (from 2015) juxtaposed with the GPS data.

Note that the video does not show graphic destruction, but the effect of the movement caused by the main shock.

Basin resonance in Kathmandu due to the Gorkha, Nepal Earthquake

This plot shows the horizontal motion of a permanent GPS station, NAST, in Kathmandu, during the 25 April 2015 Mw 7.8 Gorkha, Nepal earthquake. The station is anchored into the ground and moves with the ground as it moves during the earthquake. Because Kathmandu is a sedimentary basin, rather than bedrock, the seismic waves shook the area much longer than the nearby hills.
