    Post your results at 90% confidence level

    Thought this might be fun...

    When I drop to 80%, Broadly Southern European drops to 0.1% and Spanish & Portuguese shows specifically at 0.7%. But what I also find interesting is that SSA is definitely there and they seem very confident about that. Guess it's not surprising being from the South sadly as it is..

    Edit: Posting 50% confidence level for comparison, using the South Asian beta results.

    Honestly no idea how I have 1% Spanish & Portuguese and 0.4% Broadly Southern European.

    As you can see, at 90% confidence a bit over half my ancestry becomes "broadly northwestern European" and a bit over a third becomes "broadly European". My Native American drops from 2.3% (at 50% confidence) to only 1.7%, with an additional 0.2% "broadly East Asian & Native American". But my unassigned also increases from just 0.1% to 2.4%.

    Interestingly, my 0.4% Finnish does not change in going from 50% confidence to 90%. I know of no Finnish ancestry in the last 300 years or more, but this does seem persistent. I'd guess it actually comes in through either my German or my Scottish ancestry -- but who really knows?

    EDIT;

    For comparison, here's what it looks like at 50% confidence:

    AncestryComposition_50-percent.JPG

    Despite how tiny my "Spanish & Portuguese" ancestry is here, my maternal grandmother was half Spanish. Both of her grandfathers immigrated -- separately -- from the island of Menorca. They came over with their parents and siblings.

    23andMe also shows a "likely match" to Switzerland, and I definitely do have some Swiss ancestors. But one of my maternal grandmother's grandmothers -- like her husband -- to immigrated with her parents and siblings. She was born in Muhlhouse, France, which is actually only about 40 kilometers from Basel, Switzerland.

    Since a little over 6% of my ancestry should be from her (and it's more recent ancestry than my actual Swiss ancestry, which is from the mid-1700s), I wonder if that might not be the real source of this "Swiss connection"?

    Besides British-German-Catalan, ancestry includes smaller amounts of French, Irish, Swiss, Choctaw & another NA tribe, possibly Catawba. Avatar picture is: my father, his father, & his father's father; baby is my eldest brother.

    Looking at all of our results, they make sense. My grandfather is from NW Russia, my grandma is French - so my mom has a mix of both.

    My results also make sense, with some smoothing. My Finnish and EE are clearly Russian, with some paternal Polish in there. My Scandinavian is pretty clear, also paternal. The one that does not make sense is my B&I as it is located on a paternal segment at 90% confidence. I'd expect that from my maternal grandma. Some north German or Scandinavian is being lost in my paternal B&I, I think.
