    I got the email as well. I also accepted the newer results when they were released. I think that they'll just be updating all the people who haven't opted in so that there's consistency when comparing ethnicity estimates with matches. I doubt that it will be a brand new update that quick.

    I've not had the email yet, already accepted the latest set of updates when they came out for all the kits that I manage.

    It seems this might be a blanket email irrespective of whether you accepted the previous updated results or not.

    Nothing for me. I received my results this month so I’m thinking that I may have the update already. A few screenshots if it helps, everything looks the same as older tests that I’ve seen:

    I got the email yesterday, but it was addressed to my mum, whose kit I manage. I accepted her updated results immediately last year when they came out (May 2018) as they were a big improvement. So the email either hints at new results this May 30, or is as people here have been saying a blanket email for everyone warning that the new default will be the update.

    I noticed now too that one can now download a PDF of their previous estimates, until July 20. Click on "updates" -> "View Previous Estimate". They are most definitely phasing out the old estimates.

    I highly doubt we'll see anything new on May 30.
    Mum = 50% Irish, 25% Ukrainian, 25% Romanian
    Dad = 40% French-Canadian, 10% Irish, 50% English
    Big Y + YTree.net = R M269 -> DF27 -> Z195 -> FGC34881 -> FGC34865 (SW France; ~500 ybp)
    FTDNA mtDNA Full Sequence = J1c2e
    Most Distant Known Ancestor = Jean Moreau b. 1630s Parthenay, Deux-Sèvres, France
    Surnames = Welch, Chibry, Moreau, Todd, Anderson, Bedford, Joncas, Basaraba

    It reads to me that it’s just the update we’ve all mostly opted into, but now they’re phasing out the old results as fostert said.

    There’s a line at the top that says “Your Updated ethnicity estimate is here. Explore it today.” And a link that brings me to my current (Updated) results.

    I personally think they’re just rolling this update out to all accounts now whether you’d previously accepted the update or not. It wouldn’t make sense for them to allow accounts to keep old estimates that aren’t as advanced as they say the new ones are. At least not forever.

    Certainly, because it makes match comparisons a moot point until everyone is on the same update.
