It's interesting, but the website design is a bit clanky. My understanding is they are looking at actual shared ancestry (similar to Ancestry for example) but with ancient samples, rather than just mathematical similarity?
A lot of stuff is gated behind different 'tiers' of contribution. I got the most basic level out of curiosity.
In overall similarity i'm closest to Flemish (and not far from English), which makes sense given other testing. Though seems this looks more at shared centimorgans with ancient samples, which is a variety of individuals. Although i have one very large match with a pre-Christian Icelandic sample.
334.22cm in 15 segments to an Icelandic individual HSJ-A1B. Found some info on him below. Interestingly i think he is also I1-L22, and forms a branch with two men in the UK (Scotland and England). I wonder if it will be a match along that line as well, or just pure coincidence. This line has a NPE in my tree from the 1860s, so no idea where it came from before then. Would be cool to find out, currently waiting on an FTDNA kit so perhaps will find out at some point.
