Each study has its own freq based on sampling. I am trying to put a overall freq data based on extrapolation of major studies. is not accurate yet, but the most frequent published caste for each haplogroup is shown in the table in that order.

Interesting that O, C, and D are found in upper castes like brahmins and kammas. They're associated with munda/tribals in that region.

I've seen a Pashtun with O once before and I recall Sapporo saying he saw a Punjabi Jatt with O before.

3.5K years back except for Harappa area every one is tribal. These castes were present then.

O is widely present in AA tribals but also in other castes like Yadavs, Kurmis, Rajputs, Brahmins etc... in small proportions. Same is true in case of C, it is present in Maharashtra among Brahmins & others, also in TN. D is present in Reddies & also among Brahmins. SO there is big mixure there.

I honestly am not sure. I went to go look for it in my 23andMe relatives to see the subclade. After searching the haplogroup for every relative in the first five pages, I couldn't find it. If someone here knows the subclade of a Punjabi (or other Northwest Indian group), then it would probably be the same as the one among Pashtuns considering geographic proximity. It's more likely to be South Asian than Mongol I'd say since Mongols had less influence in our region historically. Much of South Asia (at least the eastern part) was Austroasiatic in the past and I think it may go back to them.

Thanks for posting, Interesting, but I second, can you post data on frequency, else it’s almost meaningless.
