England, Wales & Northwestern Europe. No community total.
Primarily located in: England, Scotland, Wales. This totals 15%. Question, anybody know why Scotland is an included region here and not listed with Scotland above? Another question, if Ulster Ireland is subtracted from the Scotland total would the balance be Central Scotland or are there other unmentioned regions in the mix? I also have ancestors from Ireland not just Northern Ireland.
I think the Ulster community represents Northern Ireland Catholics, while the separate Central Scotland & Ulster community represents Northern Ireland Protestants whose ancestors came over from Scotland.

    Northern Ireland Ireland
Rather it would be Native Irish Ulster. Everyone born in Northern Ireland would get that category.

North Connacht went further east than it does now. There were only 5 sub-communities for Connacht back then while there are 22 now. I've attached my aunt's and my own old communities.

I had no idea that Connacht was broken into 22 sub-communities, wow! Nearly every Irish line on my mother’s side is from Mayo, so mine definitely makes sense. I think the Genetic Communities are pretty remarkable but it seems that you need a strong link to get them, I didn’t get any for my fathers side of the family or my mother’s Colonial American line. I’ve since added the lines of my DNA matches into my linked family tree, I’m hoping this will help connect me to more GC’s but who knows?

Edit: totally irrelevant but my avatar photo is my great grandfather and siblings from Cornboy

With beta OFF my mum has about 3000 matches using filter matches in total in Northern England and Midlands then counting pages.
On ethnicity it shows 409 matches in East Midlands, no numbers given for NE&M
With beta ON the filter by genetic communities does not seem to be available
    Does that help?

Out of 64 pre 1800 births 45% Cheshire, 1% Irish (or Scottish), 25% south Derbyshire, 13% Burton on Trent area (where 4 counties within 10 miles), 7% Shropshire, 1% Staffs, 8% Lancs. So far all British Isles despite what some testing companies say.

In my post #30, I mentioned ancestry from Ireland. I have traced maternal ancestors to Ireland back to mid 1700’s. My paternal side is unknown, but comparing results to my maternal aunt shows I have a increase in my Irish side. Here are my Irish results from Ethnogene, Northwestern Europe, Irish-Antrim, Down, Armagh, Louth, Meath, Wicklow, Wexford, Shannon, Cork, Galway, Kildare 32.4%. My aunts, Northwestern Europe, Irish-Down, Armagh, Tyrone, Shannon, Cork, Galway, Longford, Monaghan 25.3%. Dad is somewhere in the mix.

I have a cousin from the same paternal line as me with the following:

Scotland – 583,678 people, however it is broken into three communities:
    - Scottish Highlands & Nova Scotia
    - Central Scotland & Ulster, Ireland
    - Scottish Highlands & Eastern Nova Scotia

    My cousin also has:
New England Settlers – 735,021 people with the sub-grouping of:
    - Nova Scotia & Massachusetts Coast Settlers

These are rather appropriate for our paternal lineage genealogy.

    Mom
Hawaiʻi, Tonga & Samoa - 36,483 (4,706) Over 12% of all testers match her!

    Distant cousin
    Lower Midwest & Virginia Settlers - 1,775,664 (1,476) 0.08%

    Wife
    New York Settlers - 976,775 (1,112) 0.11%

    Connacht, Ireland - 411,390 (529) 0.13%
    New York Settlers - 976,775 (804) 0.08%

I've always thought it funny I'm 1/4 Slovak but no community. My mom is 1/4 Portuguese Azores and there's a Hawaii Azores community but she doesn't have it. They're super related to each other like Polynesians.
