I understand the red ones are impossible. But what does brown mean? And what about the black ones? Why are they not red or green?

You should do a deeper Y test. Not sure what the 142R in brown is, but above that, E-M35 in brown is a deep E marker, like 35,000 years ago.

The SNPs in brown/black were SNPs your company didn't test for. Brown SNPs were ones that were on the ISOGG tree but not the NatGeo Geno tree (at the time in 2013).

Do you have STR-results also? If you want to know your subclade the best option for the moment is the Big Y 700 at FTDNA, but it will be a long wait with the current backlog. Faster options are the V13 SNP pack at FTDNA, although that lacks branches discovered in the last two years, or the V13 panel at Yseq, although it's unclear to me how they update it, some important branches are missing from that panel. Apart from these SNP tests some major branches like CTS9320 and PH1246 can be accurately predicted from an Y37 test, and FGC11451 from an Y67 test, but about 50% of V13 can not be predicted deeper than V13 based on STRs alone.
