Probably one of those rare E-M123 lineages that were brought into Southeastern Europe, maybe by Cardial individuals from the Levant during the middle Neolithic (just a wild guess), that ended up being gobbled by IE individuals in residual frequencies as a very minor lineage. We have seen a few amongst Scythians too, one E-M84 and one of my own haplogroup. Seeing this individual's haplogroup in the Eastern Europe and Baltic doesn't seem very shocking now

Edit: Or were you referring to the R2 guy?

It looks like the "Swedish" component is representative of Sweden proper, and is particularly pronounced in the Salme samples who came from the Mälaren area. This is useful for tracing the migrations of Swedish Vikings who traveled east, but it's not representative of ancestry from within the modern-day borders of Sweden.

Samples from locations south of Sweden proper, including those who were not historically Danish, tend to show more "Danish" ancestry. This includes the samples from Skara, which was an important Geatish center.

Does anyone know when the samples will be released so we can get them on Global 25?

I'm pretty sure David is on top of it, especially considering some samples are from Poland

There has been a few instances of Italians, Basque peoples etc in Norway (my own village, as an example, has a history of Italians settling there), but they arrived 500+ years after the Viking age, although this gap may simply be due to a lack of sources from later eras.. But I wonder if this might be the explanation for Scandinavians often getting 10%+ Southern European % at commercial companies..

Converted the subclades of the hg I1 samples. Like others already said. Subclade resolution is quite bad. It's like known branches five or six years ago. But maybe there are BAM files?
