Migrations of MENA (mostly Iranian) + Central Asian males probably dwindled dramatically about ~10 generations ago, but relative endogamy would have kept their genes "locked" into a specific community.

Indeed. My most recent "full" WANA ancestors that I know of are a greatx6 grandfather from Baghdad and a greatx10 grandfather from Hadhramaut. Ancestors on this side did practice endogamy and cousin marriage, so I'm not sure if most of the 3% WANA I score on 23andMe is from that or if I simply have ancestors I'm not aware of.

MENA/WANA + Central Asian ancestry is a function of both time (which correlates to age) and endogamy or well lack thereof.

I guess it depends on how strong peer pressure was to marry within in a specific community.

I think this is a good example of a founder affect.

The next two results are those of two members of the Amroha Sadaat.

This is the first individual's autosomal.

Some community provided heritage information: http://sadat-e-amrohacanada.org/about/our-roots/

They claim a foreign ancestor from modern-day Wasit, Iraq; who would be a Naqvi.

    And these are his haplogroups.

Note his paternal line is I-M233, the old I2b1, which is pretty much non-existent in India.

This is the next individual whose from the same community.

    Attachment 40743

And he has the same paternal haplogroup.

Both of these men seem to have local mtDNAs, yet no major study has ever managed to capture their Y-DNA, likely ultimately from a common source.

I doubt it, since it's not accurate for non Europeans. Though there could be advantages when it comes to determining genetic risk of disease before marriage and he might give a recommendation or mayb a Fatwa in that regard.
