    YSEQ R1b-DF27 panel results

    Hi,

I did this some time ago. Here are my results:

    Your final haplogroup is R1b-CTS9952*
All known downstream branches have been confirmed negative.

    Quick results summary:
    R1b-DF27 Panel processing
    DF27 R+
    S228 G-
    Z196 ins-
    Z2571 C-
    Z225 G+
    FGC20764 T-
    BY15279 G-
    Y12470 C+
    FGC30962 G-
    Y34187 G-
    CTS9952 C+
    FGC30984 G-
    So my final haplogroup is R1b-DF27 > Z225 > Y12470 > CTS9952

Any additional info would be appreciated.

That's new information to me actually. I had not explored the YFull website yet.
Looking at it, it seems there's a lot of portuguese people under Z225:

    https://www.yfull.com/tree/R-Z225/

I'm just on the wrong branch beneath it (as far as portuguese company goes). But maybe the tree needs more samples.
It would be interesting to see frequency maps for these haplogroups under DF27.

It's complicated, difficult and spend a few or a lot of money to be referenced in YFull and so and (FTDNA, BIg tree). Most of people tested are not present on it (me for example)
There are only some old maps (not recently actualised) of DF27, Z196 or ZZ12 (+/- Z196-) (ZZ12 Map with only some subclades )
The frequencies of each subclade are unknown especially by country (incomplete view here : https://www.familytreedna.com/public.../R;name=R-DF27)
I haven't see your branch CTS9952 wiht FTDNA
    YFull : YF83613

    Dear cousin Gil Vicente,

This is what I know so far.

If you are going to continue addicted to genetic genealogy for some time, I'd advice to take FTDNA's BigY test.

Wouldn't BigY would also pick up i'm R1b-DF27 > Z225 > Y12470 > CTS9952? I understand BigY is more complete but what would be more complete than what YSEQ has already told me?

It will provide you with the unnamed variants found in your line and update your results when they find any of them that is shared with a new tester thus moving you forward in the tree (that unnamed variant will receive an official name and become published) and telling you that you have a new (and closer) match that could help to fill the gaps.

For a starter it could place you on a new separate node below CTS9952 because I assume chances are big you could share mutations already with either the Colombian gentleman (most likely) or the British ones (less likely as I think Iberian and British cousins split around 1500 bC).

    Hi, Gil Vicente

I'm writing in English for other's sake, but I'm Portuguese and also R-CTS9952. My most distant ancestor came from Arcas de Sever, Sever, Moimenta da Beira, born circa 1650. You are the first one I came across with the same haplogroup. Melhores cumprimentos!
