What would you like to see in Ancestry’s 2019 update?

With a lot of discussion of an upcoming update to Ancestry’s ethnicity estimates (and in hopes that maybe some people from AncestryDNA periodically read this forum), what would you like to see in their next update?

I would like to see them better differentiate continental Germanic ethnicities away from their “England, Wales & Northwestern Europe” region. Their current “Germanic Europe” just isn’t doing it.

Also, I wish they would stop calling Denmark “Norway.”

This is off-topic just a little, since Ancestry's update is about the way they interpret autosomal dna, but I'd like to see them start doing a little y-dna testing and matching, like they used to do.

Ancestry has been very good with my Etnicity Estimates, so my wish is very minor. I'm 75% Irish, mostly from the north of Ireland and 25% Quebecoise. I get 28% French on the current Ethnicity Estimate which is 3% too high!! Ha! Hey, drop it down to 25% where it should be. So, that's really splitting hairs.

Having taken a look at their supposed upcoming update on another thread. My wish is that they don’t upgrade my results at all because their (unauthorized) sneak preview only made things worse. Which is a shame because right now they’re tied for first with LDNA as far as accuracy is concern.

So I say, upgrade everyone else if you want but leave me alone!

Fix the Italy and Greece and Balkan regions. Both are artificial constructs, not true genetic communities. IMO, the regions should be

    - Southern Italy/Sicily/Greek Islands
    - Central/Northern Italy(maybe includes part of France, not sure)
    - Mainland Greece/Albania/Macedonia
    - West Asia/Caucasus

I agree with this but will also add that Bulgaria could also be included in the Albania/Greece/Macedonia category too, probably, as the northernmost of mainland Greeks could have partial membership in a Bulgarian genetic cluster. Or just call it "South Balkan."

AncestryDNA does a very good (actually damn good) job on their Irish analysis. They found we're linked to a genetic community on the outer half of a peninsula in western Ireland--and that is matching the research I've done, so far.

It looks like they're somewhat vague in Iberia. I don't see any regional communities within their "regions tested" list for Iberia.
