How many Ancestry.com matches do you have?

How many Ancestry.com matches do you have?

I was complaining to their customer support about how hard it is to use their DNA matches, because there are
    so many.

While on the phone line, I accidentally discovered a way to see how many matches I have.

When I told the rep the answer, she was astounded and said that nobody else had that many.

The number is 116,551. My aunt is roughly 108,000. As you see, without searching and
filtering on more than one thing, it has become hopeless.

So ... is 116,551 REALLY all that untypically large?

Of the 6 kits that I can see they're all in the 35 to 65 thousand range. So that is pretty impressive.

Are you related to an endogenous population?

How can you see the number of matches? I know you used to be able to do it by page number but more matches just keep loading as I scroll down now.

My dad has 70000. He maternal line is from southern US. His Paternal line is recently from Britain. His paternal half sister has 50000. Her maternal line is half southern US and half New England ancestors. Father’s paternal half niece who is 50% Greek has 23000

I think those with southern colonial ancestry from both parents probably have the highest match numbers.

Southerners are into genealogy more than their Northern counterparts

I have 51,626. My wife has a grand total of 478, but she is Korean I don't think many have taken the test from there.

76,819 for me, but only 57,024 for my sister, which is bizarre. We are full sisters.

My sister must have gotten more DNA from our less tested lines, or else it's just a weird Timber side-effect that stripped her of some matches she should have.
