23andme results?

I originally took an ancestry DNA test to find out if there was any truth to the rumour of my father being Bulgarian, didn’t get much from that other than a lot of confusion. I took a 23andme test and these are the results, at this point I’m just lost and exhausted with everything and I just want someone to look over them and give their opinion please

Looks like your dad was heavily mixed. Assuming the 49% British comes from your mother which would be accurate considering she is Welsh/Irish and those two groups score 90-100% British/Irish, then your dad was a mix of French/German, some east Euro, broadly NW, and Arab. He clearly wasn't Bulgarian. Bulgarians score 80%+ balkan, rest east euro, broadly southern euro, perhaps some broadly euro. I'd say he was half Arab, half NW Euro/East euro since your 14% Peninsular Arab + 5% Egyptian is probs 25% in reality if phased with parents for further accuracy.

Thanks for sharing and keeping us up to date. Just to clarify, you said your mother's side is Welsh and Irish, but you've also said part of her ancestry is Polish, correct? Or has that not been confirmed?

With these results, it looks like the Bulgarian theory is pretty much out the window, and the one Middle Eastern grandparent theory is back in. No other leads at this point? Are your 23andMe matches any more promising than the ones on the other sites?

Nope, 23andme matches are all British and European, no Arab or any Middle Eastern :/

How accurate would you say DNA Land is?

I plugged my results into Gedmatch and DNA land, I still have a few hours to wait until I can see my gedmatch results but these are my dna land results:

DNA.land isn't particularly accurate in my experience, and sometimes it's extremely inaccurate. They tend to be very liberal in assigning "Balkan" so I wouldn't make any conclusions based on that result.

What were the Ancestry results for comparison? Any matches there that seem to be from your father's side?

I’ll post them in a bit, my 3G connection is weak at the moment. But I had a percentage of Middle Eastern that was 20%, yet I have no Middle Eastern matches, all of them are Eastern or Northwestern European
