I don't know how big their reference population is but I'm skeptical of DNA land. They show me as 11% Askenhazi while FTDNA shows me at 0%, My Heritage at 4%, GEDmatch at 5%. I do not have any jewish ancestry, I think their algorithm cannot differentiate between southeasten european and jewish.

DNA.land seems very rough around the edges. It goes against my known ancestry but when it comes to generalizations, it's okay. I have very little Finnish (23andme gives me less than 1%), but I have 26% on Dna land. I also have known German and Ashkenazim ancestry but that doesn't show up either.

Hey, I am new to this forum and genetics/genealogy in general. (I'm usually over at FT DNA forums but this forum seems more active). If I may, I wanted to mention my dna.land results. For me DNA.land DID differentiate between SE Euro and Ashkenazi. DNA.land gave me 9.7% Ashkenazi and I checked it against ged match's Jtest and got 4% (I tried to upload visuals but they arn't showing up in my post here, sorry) However, point is DNA.land gave me 31% South European and broke it down further by outlining Balkan and South Central Euro as well. I should mention FT DNA gave me 0% Ashkenazi. I am waiting on Results from 23 and me and Ancestry to see if they catch any Ashkenazi or not. (hopefully this will help validate some Jewish ancestry or not). To put this in a little more context, I also have a fair amount of Ukrainian and Polish (Galicia)/Lithuanian ancestry. My Mother has speculated some Jewish Ancestry but we aren't positive....The town my great grandmother is from had a large Jewish Community (town of Pidhaitsi (Ukrainian: Підгайці, Pidhajci, Polish: Podhajce), My G grandmother's surname is one of the names that could be either Jewish or just slavic so I am still in the middle of researching this

I am not sure if DNA.land is flagging me with Ashkenazi because my Mom's side is from areas that at the time had a high Jewish population and therefor have some genetic similarities, or if this ethinic % is close to accurate. I have heard that DNA.land is not the best, however, aside from the Ashkenazi, everything else they listed matches up to my ancestry paper trails and/or family oral history pretty good.

I just wanted to mention all this in case any of it is useful.
