Thanks for posting. Here is your friend "Chris_scaled" (the orange square) on a PCA created with all of the G25 individual Greek samples and the samples from some of the Greeks on this site. It seems your friend plots right in the middle of the Smyrna Greeks. I think this makes sense based on his regional ancestry. I will post some more models as time allows.

    Thank you!
Many Smyrna Greeks must have been mixes of islanders+mainlanders (especially from the lower half of the mainland ) so that's to be expected.

Can you help me with morley's ydna predictor tool ? Are you familiar with the points that were mentioned on the message that I received ? As I wrote after that the process completed successfully, I'm just not sure if the result is accurate

Where would I plot on your chart Greekscholar? I would imagine between Kos and Lebanese Christian according to what we've see so far. Just wish we had some of our own confirmed 4 grandparent Rhodians (and not settlers from mainland post 1947). And are Kastelorizans practically identical to Rhodians?

Oh, I had intended to post the big PCA that had Cypriots, Pontics and Central Anatolian Greeks like I did before. It had your family and Johnny's coordinates as well. I must have copied and pasted the wrong data sheet.

Let me check and see if I saved the big PCA coordinates list.....if not it is pretty easy to add those samples back in.

Autosomal results are typical for someone with his ancestry. What is strange is his haplogroup. It is Nordic/Germanic, it peaks in Scandinavia. His paternal granfather is Peloponnesian?

His paternal grandfather was from Seydikoy.
Unfortunately while his surname is very rare he was unable to trace his ancestry further in the past. By rare I mean that all who share his surname are relatives except maybe for a few people located in a specific area on central Greece for whom the relation -if any- is uncertain and a person that lived in 13th century Patmos (his full name mentioned along with others on a site that listed old gravestones ) .

What about the message that it was shown during preprocessing stage 2 ? Could the result be wrong ?
