Amhara have significant Arabian ancestry which carries Iran_N. Somalis generally don't have much arabian ancestry so most Somalis have negligible amounts it.

Thanks for the answers. I used to think that Cushitic and Semitic speakers from the Horn share the same Western Eurasian ancestry but only in varying percentages.

I have been trying out some high snp qpadm models for Somalis using only the sample that was closest to the Somali average on G25 (Ayodo_34S). Somalis can be modeled significantly better as Dinka + Yemeni Jews (chisq: 2.826 tail 0.900630029) than as Dinka + Levant_PPNB (chisq: 5.487 tail 0.600767663). I don't know if this is indicative of actual Iranian Neolithic ancestry, but I thought it was interesting.

Yemeni Jews are closer to the Eurasian component as they are more Natufian rich than PPNB along with having some minor Dinka like admixture so the better runs are just a result of that.

There isn't as far as I'm aware, J1 is found in small frequencies but is likely of recent Arabian Origin.

I thought that might be the case, or it might be a result of different damage rates. To test that I ran a qpadm model including PPNB samples and the GanjDareh_N samples and it also significantly improved the model:

although the std errors were pretty bad for the Eurasian component.

Wouldn't using Gumuz or Mursi vastly improve the fit ? - modern Dinka are far too West-African shifted...actually not even modern, their West-African affinity is very ancient.
