    I2a1b2a1a1a is?

    I'm definitely I2a1b2a1a, which I know is now S17250. I have reason to believe I'm I2a1b2a1a1a and want to know more about it. I have seen trees and diagrams online that show subclades with their new labelling, but I can't find any way to match the old to the new.

    If there is no direct way to check these things, does anyone happen to know what current subclade I'm looking for?

    I2a1b2a1a1a = S17250
    I2a1b2a1a = CTS10228

    Some simple calculations, maps and plots I make for free, but for more complicated maps, plots and calculations I ask for a donation of $2 or 1.7 per map/plot via Hidden Content PayPalHidden Content account.
    Every fourth map is free. Admix decomposition is $7 or 6.

    Thank you very much. It's weird how the old version uses a more specific classification.

    the new ISOGG says I2a1b2a1a1 = Y52464, whereas

    the old ISOGG says I2a1b2a1a1a = S17250/YP204

    I will, of course, use the latest tree, but it seems almost as if they realized that I2a1b2a1a1a should never have existed in the first place.

    It doesn't go that way.
    The nomenclature changed because the new upstream branches were discovered.

    S17250/YP204 is now showing up as I2a1a2b1a1a1. That shows how silly it is to use the longhand name. It's been at least 6 years since FTDNA moved away from longhand names and 2 years since 23andme moved away from longhand names and here we are still using longhand names all because of WeGene. Some companies just refuse to modernize.
