Our only DE* now has 67 markers

The only DE* in FTDNA's database (that I know of) now has 67 markers. See kit 130501 in the Early Branches Project.

FTDNA wants to run the Big Y-700 test on this DE* (kit 130501), at FTDNA's expense. Unfortunately, FTDNA is unable to get a response from the owner/custodian. (FTDNA cannot proceed without permission.)

FTDNA should try to find him at facebook, twitter etc., sometimes you can contact their friends that way and then can reach them through them.

Legal privacy issues probably restrict FTDNA's communications about the case.

But you are welcome to try to find and contact him yourself. His entry is still on the project's Y-DNA results page. (I used to be a co-administrator of that project, but retired last year.)

I messaged him (I think), maybe he'll reply. I feel bad intruding on his privacy, but after all it is quite a valuable offer if he doesn't know about it.

Apparently this kit's status has upgraded from DE-M145* to D-FT75. He tested positive for SNPs FT75 and F974.

Very interesting. Given this group and the location of most D, perhaps D was born maybe around Egypt and while most of the D tribe migrated east, the stragglers had descendants like these D examples in Nigeria and the Middle East.
