I'm very curious if the ANE-like genome(s) is/are R1 or something even downstream.

None of the new genomes reported in the present study is especially ANE-like (in the sense of Mal'ta-like). Specimen KPT005 from the Baikal LNBA (Late Neolithic - Bronze Age) Khaptsagai site, which is located perhaps 100 km west of the middle of the western coast of Lake Baikal, appears to be about half Baikal LNBA and about half Bronze Age western steppe, which the authors have suggested may be attributable to admixture from "the Yamnaya-related Afanasievo population from nearby Altai-Sayan region."

were excavated. Skeletal remains from six graves were transferred to the Anthropological museum: from grave 7 (inventory #8300),
    grave 12 (#8304), grave 13 (#8305), grave 14 (#8302), grave 19 (#8301) and from a looted grave (#8313). Some of the individuals were
in a flexed position within the interment, under a stone vault. Numerous artifacts were unearthed such as white nephrite rings, green
nephrite knives, stone arrow heads and spear points, stone chisel, awls and stone needles in ornamented needle cases (Okladnikov,
1929). According to the researchers, human skeletal remains are dated to the Glazkovo stage of the Late Neolithic based on the artifacts
    (Alekseev and Mamonova, 1979).
The Upper Paleolithic genome from the Ust-Kyakhta site south of Lake Baikal appears quite close to the previously published Kolyma Mesolithic and Magadan Bronze Age genomes on the study's PCA graph.

It looks like a slightly Western Eurasian-shifted (or less Eastern Eurasian-drifted?) modern Chukotkan, or (more plausibly) like a Baikal LNBA specimen with less East Asian/Manchurian admixture.

All these Q1a2's are actually Q1b's (Q-M346, L56 and downstream) acc to ISOGG 2019-20 nomenclature. Q-M25 is Q1a2 acc to ISOGG 2019-20.

I ran an analysis on the haplogroup Q BAM files and I found the 14C calibrated dates from the study and put it together in a table. They are separated by more than 10,000 years from the Beringian ancestors of Native Americans. BZK002 and KPT003 have the largest file sizes and therefore the most coverage. KAG002 and KPT005 have very low coverage it is the most likely reason they aren't derived for a more downstream haplogroup. KAG002 and KPT005 each only have one read for a Q1b1b1~ SNP which are ancestral but no reads for other Q1b1b1~ SNPs or Q1b1b or Q1b1b~ SNPs.

So, the Ust-Kyakhta specimen is also at least 12,800 ~ 15,400 years removed from his MRCA with indigenous North American members of C-P39 and Eurasian members of C-F1756 according to the YFull tree. The Ust-Kyakhta specimen has been dated to 14,050–13,770 BP, so he may very well be quite close both genetically and temporally to the people who first migrated to the American continent. However, he appears to have had an additional 27% proto-East Asian admixture beyond that which was present in the 30% ANE+70% East Asian(xOnge) proto-American population.
