People from my community that accepted Islam use mughal as surname. Probably your ancestry is too diluted for central asian matches to show up.

As far as I know, the last of Mughals would most likely have more Punjabi DNA. Take a look at Bahadur shah Zafar and his sons for example. I agree with the 5%.

A lot of people claim Mughal descent, though they are not. That being said, my haplogroup isn't diluted enough. Still proves a middle eastern /central Asian connection. Even if I have central Asian relatives, they would be too distant and most likely not have taken the test.

Your SW Asian is close to the lowest of any Punjabi member here. Although you are carrying some Mediterranean. Harappa is not great for this kind of stuff. However, the last of the Mughals were around 1760. Some of their descendants are married into Punjabi and UP Muslims. Others married into Persian/ Turko Mongols. I don't doubt that you might have some trace ancestry but I doubt it will be more than 5% looking at your Harappa scores.

Usually seeing your scores I would think Punjabi Brahmin or Punjabi Gujjar.

There are Punjabi communities who have adopted a Mughal identity such as the Tarkhans. The Pakistani diaspora in the UK has some Baigs/Begs among them but I have no clue how they test genetically.

Hard to check because the ones settled in cities have completely dropped their real surnames. And they're the ones that are educated enough to migrate to west. The ones from villages are mostly in gulf.
