    Newbie help needed

    Hello,

I have tested via NGS and FTDNA: R-CTS9219 with markers y5589, y5591 and y5594. I will soon get YSEQ results. Can someone please tell how to understand such data, and also results as this:

Two new CTS9219+, both belonging to the Balkan cluster:

    Sicily (Arberesh) Italy R-CTS9219 13 24 14 11 11-11 12 12 12 13 13 29 16 8-10 11 11 25 15 19 30 14-16-16-16 11 11 19-23 15 15 18 17 37-37 12 12 11 9 15-16 8 10 10 8 10 11 12 23-23 16 10 12 12 18 8 12 21 20 16 12 11 13 10 11 12 12 36 15 9 16 11 26 26 19 12 11 12 12 10 9 13 12 10 11 11 30 12 14 24 14 10 10 19 15 19 13 24 17 12 15 24 12 23 18 10 14 19 9 11 11

Y5589, Y5591 and Y5594 are all SNPs that are equivalent to CTS9219 (CTS1450). In other words you are for sure R-CTS9219 if you are positive for all those SNPs, as well as CTS9219 itself. Are you negative for the clusters downstream of CTS9219? It would be interesting if you were indeed R-CTS9219*.

The Arbėreshė from Sicily is R-Z2705>Y32147, Z2705 clusters as a whole are most frequent among Albanians and many can be directly linked to the historical movements of Albanian-speakers. I am not too sure what cluster the Bulgarian sample belongs to, but I believe that he is also Z2705+.

It seems to me one of the main things to note is that your terminal SNP is downstream of Z2103. Most of the Yamnaya males whose skeletons have been recovered and tested have been derived (positive) for Z2103. There have also been three Beaker skeletons thus far that were derived for Z2103.

Here is the phylogenetic pedigree of your terminal SNP, beginning with R-M207:

    R-M207>R1-M173>R1b-M343>L754>L389>P297>M269>L23>Z2103>M12149>Z2106>CT S1843>CTS7822>CTS7556>Y5592>CTS9219.

Of course, some of those SNPs are representatives or placeholders for blocks of SNPs at their levels.

This little graphic might be helpful in terms of ancient dna and the major west/east division of R1b-L23.

Most of the R1b-L23 in Central and Western Europe is downstream of L51 rather than Z2103.

Both clades of L23 have also recently been found in Afanasievo skeletons in Mongolia.

    Thanks all for the inputs.

I mostly understand the SNP Markers and their indicative tracing, buy why detail what i guess are Loci 13 24 14 11 11-11 12 ?

Thanks for the reply. From the data I originally posted, how were you able to determine this:

"The Arbėreshė from Sicily is R-Z2705>Y32147, Z2705 "?

Very informative, thanks. Check this. Most of Y is (proper word?) non-recombining.

Can you tell me what are the numbers after the SNP
    Y5594 = 24371670 (+strand)

I was already aware of him, and his cluster was also determined by the admins of the Albanian Y-DNA Project.

Though you could conclude that he is Y32147 by comparing his STRs to others that belong to this group or Z2705.
