How do I model my recent and ancient ancestry?

From genetic genealogy, I’ve determined that I’m Anglo-Celtic and Norman elite on my fathers side and Irish, French Canadian, and Polish on my mothers side. However, I want to get an accurate percentage of each. I also want to determine ancient ancestry (such as how much Proto-Slavic, Proto-Germanic, British Beaker, etc I am) or I know my father descends from English colonizers of Virginia and some of them were of English, originally Norman aristocratic ancestry so I would like to know how much of my ancestry is native English and how much is Norman. So I ran across this: https://anthrogenica.com/showthread....results/page26

The Global 25 calculator seems very accurate in determining recent and ancient ancestry, however I’m new to this and I don’t know how to even begin. Perhaps someone could tell me? Thanks in advance.

You have multiple ancestry sources that are all relatively closely related, so whatever results you get I would take them as a rough estimate only, unless you can rigorously check them against your genealogical data. That applies even more to ancient ancestry.

In fact, we don't know for sure what the genetic profile of Proto-Germanic, Proto-Slavic speakers etc were for certain. People have reasonable guesses, but that's as far as you're going to get at this point in aDNA knowledge.

    Hello Thomas,

You will need to contact Eurogenes and send him the raw data from one of the testing companies you’ve used. Once he opens again in July, he’ll convert that information into the coordinates you’ll need to get started.

    See:

    http://bga101.blogspot.com/2017/10/g...ore-to-be.html

In the interim, I would continue reading whatever you can on the subject. Most of the G25 threads are in the Autosomal section of the forum.

    As an afterthought:

Once you have your coordinates you can start out by using Vahaduo or download the software and do it yourself on your computer.

    Thank you very much!

BTW, does it cost money at all or is it free to do?

Eurogenes charges $12 to convert your raw data into coordinates and Vahaduo’s tools are all free.

It can never be said enough that 12 euros for such an essential tool, that's literally philanthropy. Without the services of David @ eurogenes, the lives of the passionates of autosomal genetics would be very sad.
