    Y-DNA studies on Albanians

i tried to gather all studies with any information on Y-SNPs or Y-STRs of ethnic Albanians or the population of Albania.
if i missed any, please post them.

I would also suggest checking out these projects; http://www.gjenetika.com/statistikat/ and http://rrenjet.com/statistikat/. They have larger sample sizes than these studies, and are thus more reliable, even though they are public-funded projects. Just be aware that there may be duplicates that are a part of both projects.

    Albanian Y-DNA statistics:

    Ydna: J1>P58>YSC234>ZS241>BY32817 (Y179831)

    Maternal Ydna: E-V13>CTS1273*

    Mtdna: T1a1l

    Albanian Y-DNA statistics:

Thanks, I knew about Gjenetika, but not about Rrenjet.
Interestingly, in 4 of these studies i posted, Ghegs and Kosovo Albanians are ~40% E-V13, but on these two projects they are 16-28%.

I think that the reason why E-V13 only reaches ~16.7% among the Kosovar Albanians that have tested via Rrėnjėt is because of the lower sample size, only 66 have tested. On Gjenetika the percentage reaches ~26.6% with a sample size of 177, however I should mention that Albanians from the Preshevo Valley of southeastern Serbia have also been included into this group.

Nice to see another J-M67 person here. Is your paternal line Serb or Croat?

Y-chromosome diversity of the three major ethno-linguistic groups in the Republic of North Macedonia

A total of 314 individuals representing the three major ethno-linguistic groups (ethnic Macedonians, Albanians and Turks) in the Republic of North Macedonia were analyzed for Y-SNPs and Y-STRs using minisequencing and fragment analysis. The haplogroup composition differed remarkably between the three groups with dominance of haplogroup I2 in ethnic Macedonians (28.1%), E1b in Albanians (35.3%) and J2a (34.9%) in Turks, respectively.

    where the samples were taken.

such proper sampling is very rare. often only one random town is taken to represent a whole country.
